Background...
Luther Crest, called to a Christ-centered ministry through creation and community, is committed to providing experiences for people to grow spiritually, emotionally, professionally and physically.
Facilities and programs need to be adjusted and enhanced to serve more effectively the congregations of our association and the people who are our guests.
In February of 2011, the Luther Crest Association authorized the board and staff to explore the “new” Luther Crest. A Strategic/Site/Capital Initiative Task force was established and now has in place a concept to address the overall Master Site and Program Plan.
This Task Force has spent many hours contemplating the future of Luther Crest and, with the help of Orb Management and JLG Architecture, both of Alexandria, MN, a first draft of this concept is now presented to the constituency for discussion.

What we found...
- Luther Crest, called to a Christ-centered ministry through creation and community, is committed to providing experiences for people to grow spiritually, emotionally, professionally and physically.
- Facilities and programs need to be adjusted and enhanced to serve more effectively the congregations of our association and the people who are our guests.
- Luther Crest needs to make a statement about what it can offer as a Bible Camp, conference and retreat center.
- Luther Crest is in a great location, and with this new plan, has the potential to better serve current guests, and also new churches, new schools, families, communities and individuals.
Needs to be Addressed...
- The times are changing… rapidly. Over the last 40 years, Luther Crest has tried to stay ahead of the curve in offering experiences and a place of welcome and hospitality.
- Because of incredible demographic and leadership changes over the last 10 years – including changes in what youth and parents desire and expect – Luther Crest is behind in facility and program development.
- Specific needs must be addressed, e.g. accessibility to the site and buildings; hospitality; housing accommodations for youth, families and adults; dining experience and food preparations; unhealthy and debilitating facilities; and more program resources for dynamic year-round programs.
- By accomplishing strategic goals through program and master site plan enhancements, Luther Crest will be better equipped to compete for campers, retreats, and conferences, thus strengthening the church and the greater community.
